Blender 5.0+
Riptide Fluids
A Flip Fluids–style liquid toolkit: Domain, Fluid, Inflow, Outflow, Obstacle, Force Field, whitewater, world settings, and bake — wired to Blender 5's native FLIP / APIC liquid solver.
Install in Blender 5
- 01
Install from Disk
Edit → Preferences → Extensions → dropdown arrow → Install from Disk. Chooseriptide-fluids-blender5.zip. - 02
Enable the extension
Search for Riptide Fluids and enable it. Open a 3D View, press N, and open the Riptide tab. - 03
Quick Setup
Click Quick Setup — Dam Break. That creates a Domain, a fluid column, and a collision block with FLIP liquid settings already applied. - 04
Bake
Set Resolution / Viscosity / Whitewater in the sidebar, then Bake All. Playback the timeline. Cache lives next to your .blend unless you change the path.
Object types
| Type | Role |
|---|---|
| Domain | Bounds + solver (FLIP or APIC), mesh, cache, whitewater |
| Fluid | Volume of liquid present at frame start (Geometry flow) |
| Inflow | Continuously emits liquid with a velocity |
| Outflow | Deletes liquid that enters the volume |
| Obstacle | Solid collision (Effector) |
| Force Field | Point / wind / vortex influence on the liquid |
What this is (and is not)
Flip Fluids is a commercial C++ engine. Riptide does not copy that engine or its branding. It rebuilds the same artist workflow — domain-centric liquid, inflows, whitewater, world parameters — on top of Blender 5's built-in Mantaflow FLIP/APIC solver, plus this in-browser FLIP studio so you can try setups immediately.
